Skookumband plays for November Squares at the Grange

Skookumband will be providing dirt kickin’, oldtime music for the Quimper Grange First Saturday Square dance in November.   Dancers will be directed by caller Rita Mandoli!

Skookumband (Dylan Mackay fiddle, Charles Espey banjo, and Alex Moro guitar) has recently formed, but its players are not new to the square dance and old time music scene.  Dylan, Charles and Alex have been playing for dances for many years, and are active participants in the Portland Old Time Gathering and the Dare to be Square West events. Rita has been calling dances in the Pacific Northwest for 3 years and is a favorite of the square dance community here in Port Townsend.  If you want the real deal - both band and caller - this is the event for you.

The dance starts at 7:30 and will run until 11:00.  Singles, couples, groups, families, beginners, experienced and everyone else is welcome to dance, listen, or simply hang out.  All dances are taught. $6.00 adults; $3.00 youth.  Grange members free.  Details listed below:
